MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2013 : LA NUOVA DIMENSIONE DEL DESIGN

"Canvas" è un insieme di due dimensioni, mobili leggeri in legno e alluminio, tela di canapa elastica che può essere appesa su una parete piana. La superficie di ogni pezzo viene stampata con le immagini dei mobili che rappresenta, e una volta rimossa può essere appoggiata contro una parete e utilizzata come salotto. Canvas è stato progettata dallo stilista Naoki Ono, fondatore dello studio di design di Tokyo.

Unveiled earlier this month at Salon Satellite at Milan Design Week 2013, Canvas is a set of two-dimensional, lightweight furniture pieces made of wood, aluminum and stretched elastic canvas that can be hung flat on a wall. The surface of each piece is printed with images of the furniture it represents, and once removed can be propped against a wall and used as actual seating. Canvas was designed by spatial designer Naoki Ono, founder of Tokyo-based YOY design studio.

FASHION&DESIGN EXHIBITION DENTRO UNA TUTA SPAZIALE GIGANTE

I due artisti Joanna Malinowska e Christian Tomaszewski hanno creato questo impianto maestoso, una tuta spaziale gonfiata che contiene uno showcase. L'opera si chiama “Mother Earth Sister Moon”, ed è la riproduzione gigantesca della cosmonauta russa, Valentina Tereshkova. L'impianto è attualmente in mostra alla Zacheta National Gallery of Art di Varsavia, Polonia e durerà fino al 19 maggio 2013.

The work is called "Mother Earth Sister Moon", and he is playing the giant Russian cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova. The plant is currently on display at the Zacheta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Poland and will last until 19 May 2013.

ART : ANIMALI TRIDIMENSIONALI "ALIVE WITHOUT BREATH"

L'artista Keng Lye ha disegnato con resina e vernice questi animali. I disegni sono lucidi e in piena prospettiva sembrano assolutamente veri. Lye riempie lentamente ciotole, secchi, e scatole con alternanza di strati di vernice acrilica e resina, creando la vita acquatica animale che sembra così reale si potrebbe quasi passare per una fotografia. L'artista utilizza una tecnica molto simile al pittore giapponese Riusuke Fukahori, anche se Lye sembra fare le cose con un passo avanti, rfacendo sporgere le creature dalla superficie, aggiungendo un ulteriore livello di dimensione.

Singapore-based artist Keng Lye creates near life-like sculptures of animals relying on little but paint, resin and a phenomenal sense of perspective. Lye slowly fills bowls, buckets, and boxes with alternating layers of acrylic paint and resin, creating aquatic animal life that looks so real it could almost pass for a photograph. The artist is using a technique very similar to Japanese painter Riusuke Fukahori who was featured on this blog a little over a year ago, though Lye seems to take things a step further by making his paint creations protrude from the surface, adding another level of dimension to a remarkable medium.

French artist Bernard Pras works almost entirely within the realm of assemblage and anamorposis, a visual illusion where a distorted projection—often made from paint or a collection or objects—must be viewed from a specific vantage point to reconstitute the intended image. His latest piece, a portrait of Malian actor Sotigui Kouyaté, is comprised of numerous objects including clothes, paint, wood, rubber, and other objects found or scavenged around the installation site. Only when viewed through the lens of his camera is the image clearly visible.

"Fluidic" è il risultato di una collaborazione unica tra il centro Advanced Design di Hyundai e con il WHITE void studio. La scultura luminosa interattiva è composta da 12.000 sfere sospese che fungono da tre pixel tridimensionali, o voxel. Circondato da telecamere 3D possono ricostruire movimenti di senso dello spettatore, che vengono poi tradotti in disegni di luce, ma incredibilmente la luce fornita al singolo voxel è completamente esterna. FLUIDIC is the result of a unique collaboration between Hyundai’s Advanced Design Center and Berlin-based studio WHITEvoid. The interactive light sculpture is made from 12,000 suspended spheres that act as three dimensional pixels, or voxels. Surrounded by 3D cameras the piece can sense viewer’s motions which are then translated into light patterns, but amazingly the light supplied to the individual voxels is fully external.

TORNA IL T-REX DI JURASSIC PARK AL CINEMA : ECCO COME NASCE UN MITO

Jurassic Park potrebbe aver contribuito a rivoluzionare la moderna animazione CGI nel realizzare un film ma la maggior parte degli effetti del film sono in realtà ottenuti con modelli reali e non con il computer. Ne è la prova il T.rex costruito a grandezza naturale, del peso di quasi 4 tonnellate, che è stato capace di muoversi grazie a una squadra di marionettisti, artigiani e scultori. Dietro questo grandissimo lavoro ci sono i Stan Winston Studios, la casa di realizzazione delle creature animate del film, che oggi ha rilasciato 12 minuti di filmato che ci portano dietro alla costruzione del T.rex, accompagnati dal commento di alcuni ingenieri che hanno lavorato al progetto. Tutti potremo immergerci di nuovo nel fantastico mondo di Jurassic Park godendoci la versione 3D del film,in arrivo in America il prossimo 5 aprile. mentre noi in Italia dovremo aspettare fino a settembre.

Jurassic Park may have helped revolutionize modern CGI animation in making a movie but most of the effects of the film are actually made ​​with real models and not with the computer. Is proof of T. rex built-sized, weighing almost 4 tons, which was able to move by a team of puppeteers, sculptors and artisans.
