Un ragazzo olandese di nome Ralph, un appassionato di Lego, ha creato questa incredibile serie di telefilm in mattoncini Lego.

While much of the acting from ’80s television and films was forgettable (okay, maybe just TV), the cars were definitely not. A Dutch guy named Ralph who is not only a Lego enthusiast but also garners feelings of nostalgia for the ’80s took to creating some of the most memorable rides from that era using only LEGO. So far he’s created four impressive and intricate vehicles but has promised others are on the way shortly.

SCULTURES : SCULTURE IPERREALISTICHE

Lo scultore iperrealista Ron Mueck lavora nel regno "dell' Ultra-Reale" dove passa centinaia di ore a perfezionare la forma della forma umana, il colore appropriato della pelle, e la struttura dei capelli più realistica. Tutti i suoi sforzi culminano in sculture figurative incredibilmente realistiche con una piccola (o grande) eccezione: le opere d'arte sono spesso gigantesche o miniaturizzate, con un conseguente disagio quando si cerca di capire esattamente cosa si sta guardando. Ogni persona scolpita è bizzarra e incredibile, in parte a causa della intimità cruda, come se in qualche modo stessimo assistendo alla documentazione di un momento privato.

Hyperrealist sculptor Ron Mueck works in the realm of the ultra-real where he spends hundreds of hours perfecting the shape of the human form, the appropriate color of skin, and the most realistic hair texture. All of his efforts culminate in incredibly lifelike figurative sculptures with one small (or large) exception: the artworks are often gigantic or miniaturized, resulting in an uncomfortable “does not compute” moment when trying to comprehend exactly what you’re looking at. Each sculpted person is as bizarre as it is amazing, in part because of the raw intimacy portrayed in their faces, as if we are somehow witnessing the documentation of a private moment.

L'artista Olandese John Breed ha installato questo arcobaleno di gambe al "Salone Tedesco di Breuninger". Il pezzo ha coinvolto 145 scarpe e gambe di molti colori diversi.

The Dutch artist John Breed installed this rainbow of legs at the "Salone German Breuninger." The piece has involved 145 shoes and legs of many different colors.

Direttamente da Hong Kong ecco l'enorme anatra gonfiabile misura quasi 46 metri di altezza e 55 metri di lunghezza ed è opera dell'artista Florentijin Hofman già noto per le sue sculture grandiosi e stravaganti che sembrano nati con l'obiettivo primario di indurre tanti sorrisi.

Directly from Hong Kong here is the huge inflatable duck measuring almost 46 meters high and 55 meters in length and is the work of Florentijin Hofman already known for its grandiose and extravagant sculptures that seem born with the primary objective to induce many smiles .

SCULTURES : NUOVA FRONTIERA DELLE SCULTURE IN LEGNO

L'Artista italiano Gehard Demetz applica la sua incredibile maestria da intagliatore di legno per creare sculture inquietanti di bambini. Una delle caratteristiche tecniche più sorprendenti è la costruzione con piccoli blocchi di legno e giustapponendo le parti finemente lucidate, a superfici molto ruvide ed imprecise. Questa particolare costruzione e trattamento rendono le sue sculture assolutamente uniche nel campo della scultura in legno.

Italian artist Gehard Demetz applies his incredible craftsmanship as a traditional woodcarver to create beautifully disturbing sculptures of children.His sculptures of children are at the same time attractive and disquieting and rendered with an amazing perfection that is by no means rhetorical or classical. One of the most startling technical features is the construction using small woodblocks and juxtaposing finely polished parts to very rough and sketchy surfaces.

ART : INCREDIBILE RITRATTO ANAMORFICO

L'artista francese Bernard Pras, ha creato questa illusione ottica, dove con una raccolta o di oggetti,ricostruisce un'immagine più grande. Il ritratto è dell' attore maliano Sotigui Kouyaté, ed è composto da numerosi oggetti tra cui vestiti, vernici, legno, gomma, e altri oggetti trovati intorno al sito di installazione. Solo se visto attraverso la lente della sua macchina fotografica è possibile vedere l'immagine.

French artist Bernard Pras works almost entirely within the realm of assemblage and anamorposis, a visual illusion where a distorted projection—often made from paint or a collection or objects—must be viewed from a specific vantage point to reconstitute the intended image. His latest piece, a portrait of Malian actor Sotigui Kouyaté, is comprised of numerous objects including clothes, paint, wood, rubber, and other objects found or scavenged around the installation site. Only when viewed through the lens of his camera is the image clearly visible.

Costruita con 8.000 fogli di carta di riso, 800 alberi di bambù, e sospesa sul fili di cotone, questa bella installazione è opera dell'artista cinese Zhu Jinshi. La barca è stata recentemente in mostra al ART13 Londra.

Constructed from 8,000 sheets of rice paper, 800 bamboo shafts, and suspended by untold lengths of cotton thread, this beautiful installation by Chinese abstract artist Zhu Jinshi was recently on display at ART13 London.

L'artista Chris Carlson che è conosciuto per il suo lavoro con le illusioni gesso 3D, ha creato un Tetris. L'ombreggiatura, la prospettiva e il movimento è in "stop motion".

Denver-based artist Chris Carlson who is known for his work with 3D chalk illusions created a great stop motion Tetris game. The shading, perspective and motion is incredibly spot-on.

Mike Doyle ha creato questo mondo alieno in 600 ore di lavoro con 200.000 singoli mattoni LEGO. La torre e i loro supporti sono alti quasi 5 metri e sei metri di larghezza.

Mike Doyle has created this alien world in 600 hours of work with 200,000 individual LEGO bricks. The tower and their supports are almost 5 feet high and six feet wide.

L'artista Jason Hackenwerth, noto per le sue forme organiche e biologiche a base di palloncini in lattice, ha appena presentato il suo ultimo lavoro al Festival Internazionale di Edimburgo,nella Grande Galleria del Museo Nazionale di Scozia. Intitolato Pesci la scultura è l'interpretazione dell'artista della leggenda di Afrodite ed Eros.

New York artist Jason Hackenwerth, known for his organic and biological forms made from latex balloons, just unveiled his latest work at the Edinburgh International Science Festival in the Grand Gallery of the National Museum of Scotland. Titled Pisces the sculpture is the artist’s interpretation of the legend of Aphrodite and Eros.

SCULTURES : LA BALENA NELLA FORESTA

Scultore argentino Adrián Villar Rojas crea enormi sculture che sembrano i resti di un set di un film di fantascienza, o momenti bizzarri da un sogno surreale. Questo è "Dead Family" (2009), in cui ha creato una a grandezza naturale balena blu nei boschi fuori Ushuaia, Argentina. Il cetaceo spiaggiato è costellata di tronchi d'albero, che mi chiedo se si tratta di essere lentamente sostenuto dalla foresta o forse è un residente nativo.

Argentinean sculptor Adrián Villar Rojas creates enormous sculptural works that seem like remnants of a science fiction movie set, or bizarre moments from a surreal dream. One of my favorite pieces is My Family Dead (2009), in which he created a life-size blue whale in the woods outside Ushuaia, Argentina. The beached cetacean is pockmarked with tree stumps, making me wonder if it’s being slowly claimed by the forest or perhaps it’s a native resident.

L'artista californiano Andrew Myers è tornato con i suoi ritratti unici, realizzati con migliaia di viti. Questi tre nuovi ritratti fanno parte della serie intitolata "Noi non apparteniamo nell'ombra" e sono state realizzati con circa 2.000 viti, vernici, legno, e le pagine dell'elenco telefonico.

California-based artist Andrew Myers is back with more of his unique portraits made using thousands of screws.These three new portraits are part of the series entitled “We don’t belong in the shadows” and have been created using around 2,000 screws, paint, wood, and phone book pages.
